The Iowa Lacrosse Association (ILAX) is annually recognizing a male and female high school player from each member club’s high school team who goes above and beyond in service to their team, the sport of lacrosse, and their community.
This annual Leadership Award is named after and celebrates the life of former lacrosse player and coach, Austin Turner, who passed away in 2025. “A.T.” as he was known to his teammates, coaches, and friends, was a valued member of the West Des Moines Lacrosse Club where he both played and coached for the Tigers program.
While A.T. was involved with several sports, his true passion was being part of the game of lacrosse where he excelled. To honor his legacy and the game of lacrosse, ILAX is recognizing select high school players who are exemplary members of their team, and leaders both on and off the field.
Recipients should be upperclassmen who substantially meet the award’s criteria as outlined below.
